I started out my career in healthcare working in different hospitals as a teenager in the dietary department before moving into certified nurse’s aide roles. As a registered nurse (RN), I have experience working with people from all walks of life on medical units in the hospital, outpatient clinics and the Dept of Corrections in Iowa. For the majority of my career as an RN, I worked inpatient as a psychiatric nurse, honing my skills in verbal de-escalation and management of acutely psychotic or agitated patients. As a nurse practitioner working in private practice in Iowa, I gained autonomy and a deeper appreciation for the use of psychotropics guided by evidence based practices. I moved to FL in 2022 and started working for a local Magnet hospital Sarasota Memorial Hospital, in an outpatient partial hospitalization program (PHP), where I became familiar with mental health resources available in Sarasota and Manatee county. My extensive experience lends to my comfort level in caring for those with severe mental conditions and psychosis.

One of my goals is to eliminate the red tape for patients needing mental health care thus Apricity Behavioral Health was born in 2025. A lot of similar practices and providers in the area do not accept insurance so that is another priority- to make mental health care affordable and attainable for the greatest majority of the community. As a doctoral-prepared nurse practitioner, I am trained to provide treatment across the lifespan. My work is rooted in transparent, evidence-based practices and a desire to deliver a holistic model of care to help people live their best lives and achieve balanced mental wellness.
